Shade Structures

Have you heard the news? Our first shade structure has been installed over the K-1 playground. This large, beautiful canopy has already provided much-needed relief for our children from the heat of the sun and its harmful UV rays. It also provides up to 95% cooling shade, which keeps the playground equipment cooler. This photograph of our structure was taken at TCE just last week -- come see it for yourself!

Many thanks to all the individuals involved in making our dream become reality for our children. You helped us enormously by participating in our fundraising events, purchasing cookbooks, and donating straight to the Shade Structures Fund. We are also extremely grateful for the $8,000 grant provided by the American Academy of Dermatology and Johnson and Johnson, Inc. We simply couldn't have done it without everyone's support and involvement. Our children are truly happy to enjoy this shade structure while we continue to work on raising funds for a second structure to cover the other playground equipment.
