District 8 Board Advisory Councils (BAC)

1. Our next meeting is Monday March 10 at 5:30 at Holly Springs High and it will focus on the High School Project. Parents of current or soon-to-be parents may be interested in attending to learn about this new and intense high school graduation requirement.
2. District 8 needs a parent from our area to serve on the WCPSS Transportation Advisory Committee to review the Transportation Policy. This volunteer does not have to be a BAC Parent representative, but any parent at any District 8 school. It will only require about 3 meetings per year and keeping our BAC informed. The first one is March 14 from 11-1 at 3600 Wake Forest Rd. Last year's final report included work on these 5 areas:
1. Reviewing express bus stops and routes
2. Reviewing process of determining bus stops and routes
3. Reviewing stop appeals process and Transportation Service Requests
4. Aligning Student/Parent Handbook, transportation website information, printed forms, etc.
5. Improving communication between families, schools, and transportation
